Father's Day Trip

After church on Sunday, Father's Day, we loaded up the car and kids and got away for a few nights in Cornville AZ. Where the heck is Cornville you ask? I did the same thing back in May when Chris took us up for a night for the first time. It's about 20 minutes from Sedona, Cottonwood and the ever so cool mining town Jerome. In Cornville, is this incredible retreat center. Their are mini hotel like rooms and one staff house. When the staff house is not in use the owner will rent it out to Pastor's and their families for a very reasonable rate.

So off we went! It's been a VERY busy spring and summer. Hence my lack of blog posts. The short time away was refreshing for my own soul and our family. We had a such a great time together.

Trevor has taken more to reading as of late. His favorite book is Danny the Dinosaur. He took his book out a number of times and went off to read. It was especially sweet when he went off with Daddy to read his book as Daddy read the word. Love this kid.

Chris' parents and his brother's family were coincidentally staying in Sedona for the week. We took a day and hung out with them in their Condo area.

Cousin Luke LOVES Alexie

Daddy, Papa & Trev played many rounds of croquet. Trev was actually quite good! Maybe another golfer will emerge in our family?

The cousins took some time exploring the creek. The same creek area that Chris and his brothers went off and explored as kids. Then the boys got in trouble cause the wondered away from Dad/Uncle Chris... ah good times :)

Little Lexie is growing up. She loves her tongue and her daddy.

And sometimes she is just so serious...

But she has great hair :)

Finally, the kids favorite thing at this retreat center... Winston the horse. Ok his real name Jolla, but the kids named him Winston. I like Winston better personally. The owner said the kids could feed him carrots. So they did. often.

Well, this trip away was just a foretaste for our extended trip that we are gearing up for. TWO WEEKS IN CA! Oh I can hardly wait...d

The picture of Trevor reading by the lake/pond is gorgeous ... so picturesque!

We're on our annual family trip with my parents/brother to Napa. Fun in the sun and the weather is gorgeous! Can't wait to see/hear/read about your time in CA. Two whole weeks, woo hoo! =)
