God's grace in unique ways...

This has been quite the week. Chris has remained laid up in bed since sunday. The funny things about trials is there's no warning. I wasn't given the "heads up" when I sat down to plan my week and meals out. So the trial comes and I can fight it or embrace it. Unfortunately I've spent a lot of time fighting it but God is kind and hasn't allowed me to remain in my sinful state. He has used my mom, friends and his word to soften my heart. He has also given me some unexpected blessings. Take for instance tonight after dinner, Trevor took off his diaper and said he needed to "go to potty". This isn't something we've been working on and those of you who know me know my philosophy on potty training. It goes a little something like this... they can train themselves :-) Ok, not really. But after pushing Taylor for months and months to get out of diapers, and cleaning up accident after accident I gave up. About six months later she turned three and decided she was done. That was it. Maybe one or two accidents but nowhere near the amount of work. I mean really isn't there enough "work" to be done! So do I think this is it and Trevor will be potty trained? Probably not, but I was praising God that one of the kids poop went in the potty and not in a diaper for me to clean up! What a gift!

holding off on potty training tends to work great. my daughter did the same thing at 3..decided she would like to do it. i find when the issue is pushed it turns into a control issue...so better to wait!

I pray that this is the start of an easier potty training experience for you!! We are taking the same approach with Ethan, letting him set the pace, and he seemed interested for a while, but now he just tells us every time he has ALREADY gone potty and says "I need a change." : ) I guess that's a step in the right direction.
